Kids Korner
When you need to make an appointment with your physician, Kids Korner can assist you by looking after your small children.
What is it?
The Administration of Bell Hospital took an innovative approach (Bells’ Kids Korner is the first of its kind in the U.P.) in assisting parents, and children’s caregivers, to accomplish their healthcare needs when the doors of Kids Korner opened in early November, 2008. Quite simply, Kids Korner is a supervised play area, staffed by qualified volunteers, where well children may be dropped off for up to two hours while parents (or caregivers) attend doctor’s appointments, have testing done, or visit a patient. We have some limitations regarding the type of care that can be provided, so please call ahead at 485-2676.
Kids Korner is located in the Medical Office Building, which is attached at the east side of the new Bell Hospital.
Why We Need Your Help
We had hoped the parents/caregivers would use this free service, but didn’t anticipate its popularity. First opened from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., we’ve now expanded the hours to include the afternoon. Our new hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
We’re hoping that if you have a morning or afternoon available for volunteering, you might consider helping at Bell’s Kids Korner. Kids Korner has many great activities for young children. Some of our parent volunteers bring a younger child with them while older siblings may be in school. They’ve found that it’s a great way to build socialization skills in their younger, preschool-age children.
